A Visit To See Aunt Kelly

Over Spring Break, Kevin and I went to see Kelly in Colorado. We made the trip sans kids, which made the trip much easier even though I almost cried three times before we even got on the plane. (The first time was about 6 seconds after we said good-bye to them. There wasn't a reaon to cry other than being a mom. I am sure they had an amazing time playing with Pappy and Grandma for the weekend.)

We hung out with both Kelly and Walter Saturday, walking around Pearl Street for most of the day. The highlight of the day was purchasing the cinnamon rolls for breakfast the next morning, but don't let that fool you into thinking our day was that boring. It is just the grocery shopping was that great.

On Sunday Kelly, Kevin and I went to Vail to snowboard/ski/read (respectively). I heard that they had a great time on the slopes. All I know is that it was warm and comfortable next the huge fire, where I finished my book.

We hope we didn't disappoint Kelly with our activities on Monday. We had several hours to kill, and instead of visiting the Dinosaur Ridge (We will do that when we bring the boys out.) we chose to watch tv instead. It was perfectly relaxing and quiet, and it was cable tv!

We had a great time. It was wonderful to see Kelly and Colorado again. Next time - the boys are coming!

McKerr Weekend

A few weekends ago we visit SteveKerr, Megan and Hannah in Kansas City. We were a most concerned about the four hour drive there with Kevin and Colin, but they did amazing. To prepare for this, we purchased a dvd player for our car. When I told Colin that he was going to be able to watch a movie in the car, he at first was very excited. Then he got a puzzled look on his face and asked me "How?" with his little hands out and shoulders shrugged.

We left as soon as we could on Friday evening, arriving (after dinner and 30 minutes of running around at a playground) around 9:00. The boys were a bit sad about having to wait to see Hannah until the next day, but understood that she was "a baby who needs to sleep."

On Saturday we all went to Wonderscope. It is kind of a combination of the Science Center and the Magic House. It took a while to get warmed up, but we all had a great time. Of course K2 and I forgot the camera, so the only pictures from there are on the Kerr's blog. Kevin loved building the track for the ball to go down, which was kind of like a roller coaster. He wanted nothing to do with the water games, which Colin loved. Kevin mentioned that he wanted to return next time we visit. (Be warned, it is in an old elementary school and isn't the most impressive at first!)

On Sunday the Kerr's surprised the boys with an indoor tunnel-and-climbing-thing. We didn't realize until we opened it that when it said "Air Pump Included" it meant a hand pump.

Thankfully we still got it inflated with enough time for the boys to play in it, thanks to an air mattress pump. (And when I say boys, I mean all three of my boys.)

Sunday night we even got to see the Vrooman's and their new house. And to make the weekend perfect, we even got some Pizza Shoppe. We came home on Sunday and had a great time.

Here are a couple more pictures from the weekend.

Weekend with the Kerr's (Cheating version)

We haven't had time to blog about our weekend in KC yet. If you still want to read about it, check out the Kerr's version of events.
