A Few Things About Gwyn

So far, Gwyn is very different from the boys. She is more emotional, especially in her cries, but she is overall calmer. She doesn't cry as much as them. Kevin would get me up every two hours at night to eat for months. She has been down to two feedings for over a week now, and she is not even four weeks old yet! As for Colin, he would not like to be put down for nap time. Whenever I would set him down, he would sleep for 15 minutes or so and then would cry. She is comfortable sleeping for hours.

Gwyn is very alert, and loves to watch her big brothers. She stops whatever she is doing when she hears them come in. The boys are still doing a great job with her. They both like to wake her up in the morning. Colin will look in her crib and say "Hi sweetie. Hi cutie. Hi sweetie." Adorable. And the other day Kevin told me that he wanted alone time with Gwyneth. (He never calls her Gwyn, only Gwyneth.) I had to leave him alone in her room so he could talk to her. Let's hope it stays this way!

Reading Time

The boys wanted to read a book to Gwyn. They even took turns on their own.

Here is a bit more information (and a few more pictures) about our new daughter Gwyn.

She was born at 6:39 pm on Sunday, April 3. She was 8 lbs 11 oz and 20.5 inches long. She is doing wonderfully, as are her big brothers. They help out a bit, mostly trying to stop her crying or waking her up in the morning. Since all people really want are pictures, here are a few from her first 12 days!

Dragon Tours

The boys diligently worked to make a train. They then asked who wanted to come ride the train.

Daddy obliged them and asked, "What kind of train is this?"

Kevin replied, "Its a train to see dragons. If we see any we will fight them."

Fearful of fighting dragons, Daddy inquired further, "So this is like a tour to see dragons? Do I have to fight them?"

Kevin responded, "Don't worry. We will fight them. You just stay on the train. The roof is made of bricks, so the dragons can't break through it."

Colin made sure we had snacks for the train ride. In the end the train returned to the station with all the passengers safely.


You can see where the tour guides sit in the front. They have a cannon mounted to fire at passing dragons. Also, that might look like horses behind them, but those are swords for fighting off the dragons that get too close. You can't see in the picture, but behind the guides are small seats for children. Further back you can see the big seats for adults. Imagination at work.

8 lb 11 oz of new baby sister!

39 weeks

Time is almost up! Here is a picture of me at 39 weeks. My stomach is bigger than it has ever been! This is bigger than with either boy. M doctor is telling me that she is a big baby. (Duh.) Because of that she will be born next week!

Also, Kevin told me tonight that he can't sleep. He is too excited to meet his new sister.
