Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we headed to a pumpkin patch located about two miles from out house. As you can see, Kevin not only had his stitches, but he had his medal from soccer practice on. (He is very proud of it. He says it is "his first real medal," not like the ribbons he gets for running.)

Kevin was interested in the obstacle course thing, while Colin was more into the pirate ship. Gwyn was into being snotty and slobbery while refusing to eat or sleep. Here are some pictures!

Our First Stitches

Kevin fell at daycare last Thursday. He split his forehead open and I got a call at work that he needed to be picked up and taken to the doctor immediately. Thankfully Daddy was able to get everything in motion since I had conferences that evening, and it gave me another hour before I had to leave. Thankfully he still made it to his last soccer practice after dinner, since he got a medal for participating.

He had the 5 stitches removed today. He was pretty sad for half a day, but the last picture is from a Fall Festival the next night. He recovered pretty quickly!

A Trip To Rolla

Last weekend we left the kids in St. Louis while Kevin and I headed to Rolla for UMR's/MS&T's homecoming. Kevin entered the 5K alumi run with former cross country teammates, including Steve Kerr, Walter, Dan Bailey, and Tyler Vrooman. Megan and I were the designated photographers. It could have been that we were the ones with the "mom purses," or that we were the only ones not running. However, Walter did end up with about 300 pictures of the race.


That afternoon we headed to the winery. I have to say it was the most fun part of the trip for me. I am guessing the pictures explain that.



Afterward, it was dinner and a beer mile. It was not pretty.

I really love getting together with this group of friends. Two years ago we met up in Herman, and most of us were at the Kerr's turkey fry this past January. We really need to make these trips more often!

Gwyn 6 Month Stats

Here are Gwyn's stats from her 6 month check-up:

weight: 17 lbs, 2 oz.
height: 27 inches
shots given: 4 (This caused her to take a 6 hour nap on Saturday!)

Gwyn's new skills are sitting up from laying down, and pulling up in her crib. She is trying like crazy to crawl, and still manages to move around a lot. She doesn't really giggle as much as she squeals. She squeals for most forms of communication: laughter, anger, frustration, excitement, you name it.

She started foods a few weeks ago. She acted like she had been eating it for months. She had little reaction, and has eaten green beans, peas, squash and sweet potatoes without much fanfare.

Without a doubt she loves her brothers and her daddy. She won't eat at all if they are not sitting at the same table. Otherwise, she has to watch them. And when daddy gets home from work she starts to yell (squeal) at him if he doesn't' pick her up almost immediately.

I asked Kevin if there is anything to share about Gwyn, to which he replied "She's awesome."

McKerr Weekend 2011 Part 3

The Kerr's visited over Labor Day weekend. It was the second time that we had 5 kids and 4 adults in one house for the weekend. (Here was the first time.) They already blogged about the visit, but I feel better waiting a month to get our blog up since it took them a few weeks too.

Here are some pictures of Gwyn and Olive. Last Labor Day, we told each other we were pregnant. (Of course we already knew about them and they already knew about us.) Gwyn is 11 days (or something like that) older than Olive. Gwyn liked to show off her sitting skills.

Of course neither of them perfected it just yet...

Hannah's favorite place was the train table in the basement.

We headed to the Magic House on Saturday. The Kerr's hadn't been there in a long time and were excited to see more great St. Louis sites. (We are all waiting to take the kids to the City Museum.)

The Kerr's forgot their stroller so we shared. Don't worry - Gwyn was not in it when the picture was taken.

After naps and dinner, we went to get frozen yogurt. (Do not call it ice cream. Clearly they are very different and you don't want to deceive SteveKerr.)

The kids enjoyed the chairs as much as the ice cream. And yes, Colin is wearing two different shoes.

Before they left, we went to a favorite park of ours. Here are all the McGuire kids on the swings. Clearly Gwyn is not the favorite.

I wanted a picture of all the kids. This was the best shot. It might make more sense when I tell you that a few hours later Kevin threw up, and then 12 hours after that Colin threw up. Unfortunately, Hannah also threw up.

A VERY Fun Saturday

This past Saturday we headed to Creve Coeur park trails for a bike ride. We have previously biked to the park (Our house is actually on the map in the link. It would be under the down arrow in the upper left corner.) but that was when we Kevin and I biked, and the boys rode behind Kevin. This time the boys rode their own bikes!

Here are some pictures. Be warned- Colin's cuteness stole the show. (I never got a picture from the front of him on the bike, but I was told that his smile was so big that his mouth was wide open!)

The day started with buying Kevin a new helmet. Colin was excited to get a new one, too. He told us "It fits perfect!" (This was also the first time we had all three kids in the truck!)

A beautiful day at the park. Just a nice chill in the breeze! The bridge in the background is the highway that goes next to our neighborhood. When we ride from our house to this park, we go under that bridge.


For most if the ride Kevin was in the lead, with Daddy and Colin following, and Gwyn and I in the back. Although Kevin was very kind and shared leading with his brother a few times.

When Colin was closer to me he would talk. He talked the whole time! He would tell me how big the lake is, and what animals live in there. (Whales and sharks.) He would also ring the bell on his trike when people would pass him. He didn't stop talking for the first 30 minutes. It was adorable!

Of course we stopped to throw rocks and sticks in the lake.

I love this park. It is the park I went to in high school. I used to walk the paths in those hills with friends. Most of the dirt paths around the lake have been paved over since they have built up and developed more. The paths in the hills are traveled less but I think they are still there. I would love to go exploring sometime to see.

Near the end of our ride. The boys wanted to go under the bridge, but it was farther than they thought. After the beach ends, there is a parking lot where the path continues through the woods. Daddy just rode back to get the truck. We couldn't do that if we continued.
