Friends

We were able to hang out with friends this weekend. Both were planned last minute, which explain how we had time! Here are some pictures!

The first visit was from Adeline (4 1/2 months) and her mom and dad, Melynda and Rob. I tried to get a picture of both girls, but Gwyn wouldn't stop trying to grab Adeline's face. I would hate for their friendship to start with scarred faces and crying mommies.

The second visit was with Chase and Parker. The kids are pretty spread out in age, and are 6, 5, 4, and 3, with Gwyn the youngest. We had dinner and then playtime. It was nice and relaxing for us upstairs, and loud energy-wasting playing downstairs. To get the kids relaxed near the end, they put on pj's and watched Looney Tunes (Thanks Pappy and Grandma!). They would all laugh at the same time. I had to get a few (or 30) pictures.

There is a gorilla in our house!

Apparently, he wears superhero under roos...

...and has a coach...

...and likes to cook.

Daddy's Birthday

Kevin's birthday was Tuesday. The boys were VERY excited to go shopping for him. Then on the way home we all devised a plan to sneak into the house and wrap the gift. (Seriously.) Kevin told Colin he would have to distract daddy while we sneaked in. Then I pointed out that Colin would be holding his own gift in front of daddy, so Colin told me that I had to distract daddy. There were more details, but it gets the point across.

After the gifts were wrapped, they were hidden until the next morning. Kevin is getting good at hiding things, however Colin doesn't yet grasp the concept. Here is where Colin hid daddy's gift.

Here is daddy opening a pillow pet from Kevin. He picked out a lady bug and named it "cooq." (I love the look on Kevin's face! He is so happy!)

Here is Colin's gift. It is a soft blanket.

Now let me explain the gifts. At first, the boys wanted to get gifts that they wanted for themselves. I reminded them that gifts need to be for the person they are given to. I asked what daddy loves, to which they both yelled "snuggles!" So they both chose gifts having to do with snuggling. Kevin has a classmate that naps with a pillow pet, and he saw how much she likes it, and he wanted to share that with daddy. Colin picked out the blanket and color. Both gifts are on our bed.

Gwyn's New Favorite Pasttime...

.... is trying to walk. She gets so happy whenever she does something the boys do. We didn't have this issue with Colin nearly as much as her. I don't think we are ready for this.

Our Zoo

Kevin drew a zoo at school last week. He was very excited and told us that he would add to it when he got home. Here is that he drew at school:

Here they are closer-up:

This is our car at the entrance to the zoo. There is the sun, clouds, and an airplane in the sky. There is also a zebra.

Here are all the cars in the parking lot.

This is a giraffe.

Here is what he added at home.

Rhino

Leopard

Tiger

Elephant

Lion

Bear - half grizzly, half polar (His words.)

Gorilla

Monkey

And then, in true Kevin fashion, he hung them all on the wall. (And we had just taken some of them down! Ugh!!!!)

City Museum Trip

We have not been to the City Museum in a while. Since it is starting to get cold, and there is so much fun stuff outside, we headed there last weekend before winter.

What surprised us is that Kevin was so hesitant to climb the outdoor things. He was so brave and proud last time, but this time he told us he was scared. Luckily he warmed up after a while and started climbing and walking around in the dark areas. He didn't go in any underground tunnels. Some of those are pretty scary though, so I get it. Colin didn't really want to climb anything. He just wanted to watch the big fish swim around. (Colin even nicknamed the fish.) In the end it worked out since we could take turns playing with Kevin while the other sat with Gwyn and Colin. Here are some pictures!

Colin, Kevin and Kevin outside.

Gwyn watching the boys but still having fun!

Colin in the outdoor ball pit.

Roast marshmallows outside. We ate our fair share, and a few more.

Snuggling with daddy.

Gwyn LOVED pretending to push her stroller.

We mostly played in the new area. Here are a few pictures of the things they added since our last visit.

Happy Halloween 2011

Here are some pictures from our Halloween. Plenty of cute stories, but I would rather go to sleep right now.

Kevin was a mummy. He didn't seem to mind tat you could read his shirt. He loved that his gloves were mummy gloves too. (Thanks Pappy grandma!)

A picture of all of us. Gwyn is crying, and the boys don't want a picture taken.

The best picture I got of Colin all night.

Gwyn cried hysterically once her costume was on. I am talking very high-pitched, can't breath because crying so hard, crying. We took her to one house and then she went home.

DTG to the rescue. They both stayed home to pass out candy.
